”
Hi
We are writing from the PrintingForLess.com Affiliate Program to notify you that your affiliate account has been closed as of March 15, 2011. This is a direct result of the unconstitutional tax collection scheme passed by Illinois state legislature. As a result, we will no longer pay any referral fees for customers referred to PrintingForLess.com after March 15, 2011. If you are in the business of reselling printing, we do have a wholesale program that is unaffected not affected by the ruling. You can learn more and apply for that program at: www.pflpro.com. Please be assured that all qualifying referral fees earned prior to March 15, 2011 will be processed and paid in full in accordance with our regular referral fee schedule. Based on your account closure date of March 15, 2011, any final payments will be paid by April 30, 2011. In the event that Illinois repeals this tax collection scheme, we would certainly be happy to re-open our affiliate program to residents of the state of Illinois. Click here for more information on this law.
We have enjoyed working with you and other participants in the PrintingForLess.com Affiliate program, and wish you all the best in your future.
Best Regards,

As the owner of ShareASale.com, one of the countries largest Affiliate Marketing Networks, I’ve unfortunately seen a lot of harm done to our industry with the inception of the State-level “Nexus” laws.

When Illinois passed their version of the law earlier this year (2011) we saw a flood of termination letters go by with Merchants of all sizes cancelling their Affiliate Marketing contracts in Illinois in order to avoid “nexus”.

This causes two things:

1. No nexus – no tax money for the state = no level playing field.

2. Affiliate Marketers lose their jobs.

I don’t think this is the “fair” thing to do – and it certainly isn’t productive.

I support a Federal solution and will help to get the job done.

CHICAGO, June 1, 2011 – The Performance Marketing Association (PMA) today filed a lawsuit against the Illinois Department of Revenue, challenging the constitutionality of a newly enacted Illinois law that will be financially devastating to thousands of the state’s small businesses, forcing them to downsize, relocate or close their doors. The PMA’s complaint further demonstrates how the Illinois law discriminates against Internet-based performance marketing, in violation of the federal Internet Tax Freedom Act.
